Sunshine
There can be no life without sunlight. Most of the energy on the earth comes from sunlight. The sun provides the energy for plants to photosynthesize the elements necessary for growth. The energy is then stored in the plant in the form of carbohydrates, proteins and fats to be utilized for energy and maintenance upon consumption by both humans and animals.
While the sun heats the seed in the ground, colours the vegetation, and tints the flowers, it is also health and life giving to your body. It helps healing, killing germs, increases the activity of the liver and prevents mildew and mould. Increased circulation and the production of red and white blood cells are among other benefits. Calm nerves, hormone balance, lower blood sugar and reversal of jaundice can also be helped by sunshine.
Every person both young and old should have a moderate amount of sunshine on a daily basis. It will give a glow to your cheeks.
At all times we must remember that exposure to sunshine must be gradual and moderate. Over-exposure to sunshine is toxic and dangerous. So when is the best time to get some sun? Up to 10am in the morning and after 3-4pm in the afternoon.
